At least nine people including 4 children of a family were killed while 5 others were injured when a speeding Truck (Shehzor) fell into a ditch at Lyari Expressway in the jurisdictions of PIB colony police station, here on Wednesday evening in metropolis. According to police and rescue sources, the family was on the way to its native city Mastong, Balochistan from Karachi Sohrab Goth, in the meantime, when the Truck reached near "Esa Nagry" went out of control and fell into a ditch.
Resultantly, 4 children (age in between 2 to 4 year) and 5 women were killed. Following the accident, a heavy contingent of police and rescuers were rushed to the spot to shiftr the victims to hospital. The bodies and injured were moved to Civil Hospital (CH) for legal formalities and treatments. "The family came to Karachi a few days ago to attend a marriage ceremony of one of its relatives, police said.
The identities of deceased and injured were identified as Afshan(30) wife of Zahoor Ahmad, Sabiha(25) daughter of Hashim, Naseem(30) wife of Taj Muhammad, Farooq (2) son of Jamil, Hoor Bibi (25) Sumreen (20) daughter of Muhammad Hamza, Johar(3) son of Haji Khalil, Anisa(2) daughter of Babul, and 3-year old Babu, while the injured were among Saima, Zahoor Ahmad, Hussain, and Javeria.
