Sami appeals to government, TTP for ceasefire

23 Feb, 2014

Making a fervent appeal to the government and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) for a ceasefire, leader of Taliban's dialogue committee Maulana Samiul Haq said every one should work to save the country from destruction and violence. "I appeal the government and Taliban in the name of Allah and His Holy Prophet (PBUH) to announce a ceasefire".
Speaking at the prize distribution ceremony at Aiwan-e-Shariat of Darul Uloom Haqqania here on Saturday, Maulana Samiul Haq said the issue of conflict is not the Constitution of Pakistan but Pakistan's standing shoulder to shoulder with the anti-Islam forces. He asked the government to stop bombing the unarmed civilians warning that such acts would not resolve the issues but further aggravate them and cause more destruction. Maulana Samiul Haq said the religious institutions are not spreading terrorism and extremism but spreading the Islamic education of peace and tolerance.
He said, "If the government gives up following the policies of major powers and start dialogues with militants, all the acts of terrorism would come to an end". He said the solution of the problem lies in leaving the war on terror and Parliament's resolutions are clear guidance in this regard.
