QWP leader among four killed in IED explosions

Improvised Explosive Device (IED) explosions in Buner and Peshawar districts Saturday killed four people including a leader of Qaumi Watan Party (QWP). Police said the vehicle of a local leader of QWP, Adalat Khan was targeted with a remote control device on Gokand Road in Buner district when he was on his way to a local court. DIG Malakand Abdullah Khan also confirmed that the blast occurred near the leader's vehicle. Adalat Khan and his two companions died in the blast. Former Interior Minister Aftab Ahmed Khan is central Chairman of the QWP.
Police said three persons were killed and two injured in the blast. Police cordoned off the area and started collecting evidence from the blast site. Police have also started search operation for the culprits. The Bomb Disposal Squad has also been called in the area. The injured and the dead were shifted to a nearby hospital. Meanwhile, a man was killed in a powerful explosion in Nasir Bagh area. Police said they are investigating the nature of the blast.
