Right time to free bureaucracy from corruption, nepotism: CIC KP

Chief Information Commissioner (CIC) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sahibzada Muhammad Khalid has said that it is right time for our bureaucracy to be free from political interference, corruption and nepotism, while all necessary steps should be taken for the welfare of the people to rectify the damages of the last 66 years.
This he said while addressing a workshop regarding Right to Information Law at a local hotel in Peshawar. Chairman Tobacco Board, Azmat Hanif Orakzai, Programme Manager Right to Information Law Zahid Abdullah, Consultant World Bank Irfan Sarfaraz and Chief Executive Officer (E-Jirga) Noor Muhammad Khan were also present on the occasion.
Sahibzada Muhammad Khalid said that Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Provincial Government had the credit to introduce Right to Information Law for the first time in Pakistan. He said our foremost problem was to use powers for our political and personal gains and the enforcement of this law was the only solution of our problems.
He said the time had come that the government should directly share its information with the people so that the general masses were able to know the performance of government on the one hand and were timely aware of their rights on the other hand.
Chief Information Commissioner said, being Muslims, it was our strong belief that we are answerable to Allah for all our deeds and none of our action was hidden from Almighty Allah therefore we should fulfil our obligations honestly and wholeheartedly.
Azmat Hanif Orakzai on this occasion said that enforcement of eleven basic laws were on the agenda of PTI in which enforcement of Right to Information Law was of basic importance. He said due to this law, the general public would have access to information of any department without any hurdle.
Programme Manager RTI Programme, Zahid Abdullah in his address on the occasion said that the enforcement of this law was a great achievement of the present provincial government.
