'Sharing and learning workshop' held in Jamshoro

To reflect through the complete process of Voices of Community Project in Jamshoro District, a one-day "Sharing and Learning Workshop" was organised by Oxfam with collaboration of National University of Science & Technology & Information Department, in which representatives of different NGOs, district officers, community members and journalists participated.
The aim of the project is to attain the voices of community concerning WASH interventions carried out by various national and international NGOs in the country during the past decade in response to various man-made and natural calamities in water, sanitation and hygiene sectors.
The representatives of NUST Noman Khanzada and INF Ayaz Buriro informed the workshop's participants that Oxfam Pakistan Programme is implementing the "Voices of Community" Project in four Districts Jamshoro, Thatta, Badin and Jacobabad of Sindh province and four district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
They said District Jamshoro is one of the targeted districts, while Oxfam and NUST Teams carried out various Voices of Community Project interventions in this district during the past three months in the form of visits to its various Tehsils in order to collect views, opinions and feedback stories from the communities and the storytellers comprised of both male and female genders and a score of valuable stories were collected. During the workshop, it was shared that all collected stories (from communities utilising the WASH facilities) were deeply analysed by Oxfam and other stakeholders - Water, Sanitation and Hygiene sector specialists and all the feedback and recommendations both positive and negative in exact words of the communities were shared with all the participants.
The participants Deputy Director Information Jamshoro Ghulam Rasool Qambrani, Office bearers of different NGOs Ghaffar Malik, Abdullah Shaikh, Syed Aamir Shah, Hanif Girami, Khalid Hussain, Saqib Raza, Feroz Ali, Roshan Birhmani, Qazi Raheel, Niaz Hussain, Badaruddin, Latif Shoro, Abdullah Brohi, Imtiaz Ali and others expressed their thoughts that these recommendations act like a gold mine for them and will serve as rich contents for all development sector to implement their current projects and plan their future WASH interventions.
Later, the Oxfam Represent-ative presented on the occasion of concluding session by communicating the message of Oxfam Country Manager Arif Jabbar Khan and Dr. Syed Hasnain Ali Abbas stating that they are grateful to all the Participants of Sharing and Learning Workshop on Voices of Community Project.
