A 3-day Fun Fair Festival organised by the Bureau of STAGS in collaboration with the department of Public Administration, University of Sindh (SU) was opened on Monday at Arts Faculty of the varsity, will continue till March 12, 2014 with full swing. Exhibitors preparing for the big day for weeks have decorated their stalls and kept different things as well as food stuffs in a well thought-out way.
The exhibitor students of public administration department have set up elaborate stalls to attract visitors. The festival promises lots of fun & shopping facilities for the both male & female students of the university. In the food area, there has been kept ice creams, chicken Biryani, pizza hut related food stuffs, fast food and other delicious groceries on the stalls whereas the games including tug of war, burning of 16 lamps with one stick of the match box are the epicentre of attention of the sightseers which are kept on the stalls present in the games' area.
The festival provides dearly needed entertainment to the students on the campus in a very secure environment. A large number of undergraduates, graduates & faculty members visited the different stalls and purchased the belongings including T-Shirts with the names of departments printed on them, make up boxes, ladies' clothes etc. This festival aims at providing the students with the opportunities to express themselves and deal with others in the best way which will definitely help them in their real lives. The fun fair festival was inaugurated by Professor Dr Sarfraz Hussain Solangi, the pro-vice chancellor of SU Thatta campus on behalf of the vice-chancellor Professor Dr Nazir A Mughal as he could not attend owing to some inevitable circumstances. Among others Advisor STAGS Professor Muhammad Yousif Pardesi, Director STAGS Muhammad Mashooque Siddiqui, head, department of public administration Dr Farah Lalani, Dr Asad Ali Shaikh, Abdul Jabbar Keerio, Professor Khalid Noor Panhwar, Khalid Mirani, Nadir Ali Mugheri & Rashid Ali Silawat also attended the inaugural ceremony of the fun fair.
Addressing on the occasion, Dr Sarfraz Hussain Solangi congratulated the organisers of the festival and said that such festival will leave long-term impact on the students and they will feel the real fruit of it when they are in practical life after getting their degrees.
On the occasion, Professor Muhammad Yousif Pardesi announced to organise All Pakistan Academic Festival that will take place next month, saying the Mina Bazaar for female students will be organised soon to provide the studying girls with facilities to buy things in reasonable prices there. He said equal opportunities were being provided to the male and female students on the campus.
