'Khattak giving special importance to IT'

Principal Secretary to KP Chief Minister Mohammad Ashfaq Khan has said that KP Chief Minister Pervez Khattak is giving special importance to information technology for bringing transparency and effectiveness in the official matters of the government.
Ashfaq said for this purpose, the CM besides allocating hefty amount in the budget has also issued clear directives for the promotion of IT while Provincial Minister for Science and Information Technology, Shahram Khan Tarakai is also making all-out efforts in this regard. He said the completion of ongoing IT schemes beside improvement in the performance of departments and transparency in their services will also ensure the elimination of corruption and other malpractices.
He said the government has also decided to equip the media section of the Chief Minister Secretariat with information and other modern facilities. In this connection a meeting was held with Mohammad Ashfaq Khan in the chair. Those who attended were Director IT, Bilal Jabbar, Press Secretary to Chief Minister, Ghulam Hussain Ghazi, Assistant Director IT, Abdul Basit and other authorities concerned.
The meeting reviewed different matters relating to provision of modern IT facilities to the press section of Chief Minister Secretariat to bring it at par with modern requirements. Addressing the meeting, the Principal Secretary said that the Information Technology department has been directed for initiating immediate measures and completion of the process in shortest possible time period. He said that the promotion of information technology and capacity building of government departments are the priorities of the KP chief minister. Similarly, he said Provincial Minister for Information Technology, Shahram Khan Tarakai is also taking interest in it.
