PU signs agreement with Chinese gas compressor Company

An agreement between Punjab University College of Earth and Environmental Science (CEES) and Chinese Sichuan South Gas Compressor Company has been inked on Wednesday at a ceremony held at Punjab University Lahore. Chief Minister's Youth Mobilization Committee (CMYMC) will act as collaborators in creating awareness among the masses to make best use of bio-gas technology through its more than two lakh volunteers.
Punjab Minister for Education Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan who happens to be the Chairman of CMYMC, while addressing at a ceremony disclosed that the Punjab government will facilitate commercial production of the latest models of bio-gas plants and bio-mass power plants in the province to overcome the present energy crisis in the country. The first ever bio-mass power plant in Punjab will start functioning soon, he added.
The minister stressed upon the public sector universities to act as research incubators and expressed his satisfaction over the fact that all economic indicators in Pakistan are persistently improving. That is why the exchange rate of US dollar has fallen to Rs 98 only, which is likely to be declined more in the near future.
