Etihad wins CSR award for third year

Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, have won the Global Corporate Social Responsibility Leadership Premium Award at the 2014 CSR Business Excellence Awards in Pakistan for the third year running. The award recognises the airline's ongoing commitment to humanitarian causes, incorporating ethical values and respecting individuals, communities and the environment.
Amer Khan, Area General Manager for Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka and the Maldives, received the award on behalf of Etihad airways. Commenting on the award, Amer said "we are delighted to once again receive this award as testimony to our continued efforts in the field of preserving the environment and communities at large.
"In Pakistan, we will continue with our corporate social responsibility initiatives focusing on human development and economic empowerment in support of underprivileged communities." Etihad Airways' CSR initiatives in Pakistan during 2013 included sponsorship of the Pakistan Special Olympics team support of Deaf Reach Schools and Training Centres and the Layton Rahmatulla Benevolent Trust (LRBT).-PR
