Pakistan's import of insecticides grew by 43 percent to $58.382 million in July-January 2013-14, official figures showed. The country's import of insecticides went up by $17.562 million in July-January 2013-14 from $40.820 million in the same period last fiscal year, Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) said.
In quantity terms, insecticides import posted a growth of 2020 metric tons (22 percent) to 11,240 metric tons in July-January 2013-14, as compared to the insecticides import of 9,220 metric tons in the same period last fiscal year. In January 2014, import of insecticides fell down by $0.836 million (10 percent) to $7.458 million from the commodity's import of $8.294 million in January 2013, the PBS said. Import volume of insecticides reduced by 294 metric tons (18.31) to 1312 metric tons in January 2014 from the commodity's import of 1606 metric tons in January 2013.
