Burj Bank Limited extended support to thousands of famine-effected families of Tharparker district. In wake of national catastrophes, Burj Bank has always been one of the forerunners in disaster management. Living up to their legacy of extending support in kind and time, volunteers from Burj Bank teamed up with Saylani Welfare International Trust (SWIT) and visited the drought and famine-affected areas of Thar for a comprehensive rehabilitation exercise.
The CSR programme was designed to reach out to 1,000 households with ration packs containing 30 days basic requirements thus providing them with instant relief. The procurement, packaging and transport of the relief packets were managed by the volunteers of Burj Bank and SWIT. The volunteers from both organisations did not restrict themselves to Mithi alone but also ventured into the most remote and logistically challenging villages like Dhaklo which remained neglected by most relief efforts by various NGOs.
"As Muslims and torch bearers of Shariah compliant Banking, it is a moral and religious obligation on us to support our fellow citizens in distress. We are proud of the efforts of our volunteers and I thank Saylani Welfare International Trust for their commitment and our successful CSR partnership," stated Ahmed Khizer Khan, the President and CEO of Burj Bank Limited.-PR
