Sacking of government employees: Khursheed threatens to go on hunger strike

Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Ahmed has announced to go on hunger strike in front of the parliament if the PML-N government ousts 60,000 contract employees of various departments.
While speaking on the floor of the National Assembly on Thursday, the opposition leader said that unemployment would increase if the government ousts 60,000 contractual employees. He said that the previous PPP government has recruited more than 200,000 people in various departments.
The Opposition Leader said that a file of 60,000 contract government employees was placed on the table of the Prime Minister for taking decision about them. I appeal the Prime Minister not to oust these employees.
"If the government ousted the employees, I will die with huger strike before the Parliament with these employees. The government is going to snatch the jobs of the employees. The families of these employees would be severely affected if the government snatched their jobs."
Khurshed Ahmed said that price hike is increasing while he listened that the government would not increase salaries and pension of the employees. He said that previous PPP government had increased 125 percent salaries and pension of the employees in five years. He said that Pakistan has received $1.5 billion from a friendly country and Rs 40 billion are being spent on Metro-bus Project and Rs 10 million per day subsidy would be given to run Metro-bus. But the government does not have money to give salaries to these employees.
