KP Inspector General of Police (IGP) Nasir Khan Durrani has said that Kohat and Bannu police have added new chapters of bravery by foiling the nefarious designs of terrorists. He said this while addressing the commendation certificates distribution ceremony of Kohat and Bannu police jawans on Monday, who thwarted two separate acts of terrorisms.
The Kohat police had recovered suicide jackets, detonator and 13kg small bullets during a search of handbag. The owner of the bag also offered huge bribe to the police during the search but police refused the offer and recovered the above material. Similarly Bannu police during the Nakabandi killed a terrorist in the encounter in which the terrorists hurled five hand grenades on the police party. Addressing the ceremony, the KP IGP said police duty is full of challenges and he feels pride and satisfaction by awarding the Jawans on their bravery. He urged the police to remain alert and combat every tactics of the terrorists with iron hands.
On this occasion, the police Jawans who were awarded commendation certificates were Sub Inspector Muhammad Tariq, Head Constable Adeeb, Constable Muhammad Abbas and Driver Constable Tawaqal Khan of Kohat police and Sub Inspectors Rizwan, Saad Ullah Ghazi, Rehmat Ullah and ASI Muhammad Nawaz of Bannu police. Personal Staff Officer of KP IGP, Sohaib Ashraf also attended the ceremony.
