Hashoo Foundation, Pakistan hosted its First Alumni Get Together here at Marriott Hotel to celebrate a decade of successfully assisting deserving youth through Hashoo Foundation Scholarships. The prestigious event recognised the challenges and achievements of Hashoo Foundation's Alumni, during their education and within their respective fields, says a press release issued here on Monday.
The Alumni Get Together was graced by numerous senior dignitaries from all walks of life including the Patron-in-Chief, Chairman Hashoo Group Sadruddin Hashwani. The Get Together involved inspirational speeches from beneficiaries of the Scholarship Programme, cultural dances and musical performances.
Patron-in-Chief, Chairman Hashoo Group Sadruddin Hashwani presented awards to the high achieving alumni of the Scholarship Programme. In his address, he emphasised that "Islam is the faith of sharing and he encouraged all capable individuals to use their resources to alleviate poverty."
Sadruddin Hashwani reaffirmed his commitment to help ensure the financial sustainability of Hashoo Foundation, so that it can continue to expand its reach and impact in raising the quality of life of marginalized groups of society for generations to come. He acknowledged the visionary leadership of Sarah Hashwani, Chairperson Hashoo Foundation and expressed his gratitude towards all the individuals and partners for their continued contribution and support.
Chairperson Hashoo Foundation, Sarah Hashwani said it was an emotional occasion for her as she had interacted with so many of the alumni on a personal basis and understood how far each individual had come in their journey.
She was proud to announce that Hashoo Foundation has provided 1,700 scholarships to date. She further added that Hashoo Foundation has empowered the alumni to inspire youth throughout Pakistan. She tasked the Foundation to develop a strong Alumni Network that will track alumni achievements and provide a platform for them to contribute to the programme as mentors.
The Hashoo Foundation Scholarship Programme was launched in 2004 to support deserving and talented youth from marginalized communities of Pakistan, by facilitating their access to higher education. The programme also provides hostel facilities and essential life skills training for employment.-PR
