The total liquid foreign reserves held by the country stood at $9,864.2 million on March 28. Giving the break-up of the foreign reserves position, a statement of the State Bank of Pakistan said on Thursday that foreign reserves held by the SBP stood at $5,171.6 million while the net foreign reserves held by banks stood at $4,692.6 million on March 28.
During the week ending March 28, SBP's Liquid FX Reserves increased by $746 million to $5,172 million compared to $4,426 million in the previous week. The increase in the Central Bank reserves was attributed to receipts of $611 million from multilateral and bilateral sources, which includes $556 million received from IMF. During the week ending March 28, total official payments were $215 million.
