Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) on Friday shut down its offices in Hyderabad, Nawabshah, Shikarpur, Jacobabad and Pasni, officials told Business Recorder. The national airline has taken this decision because of a lack of business as operational expenditures surpassed revenues, officials said, adding that "the closure decision came after a financial review on these cities".
However, the airline will retain the employees working in these offices, they said, adding that "all of the staff will be adjusted at other offices". Sources said the national flag carrier is considering shutting down more financially unviable stations in the county.
