The Refugees Affected and Hosting Areas (RAHA-UNDP) KP Programme, conducted special training courses of basic and advance stitching, basic beautician, computer and food preservation for community women of three union councils of Peshawar. All courses were financially assisted by Japan government.
The skill training course specifically designed to impart community women about basic stitching and makeup tips, under the RAHA-UNDP KP Programme, in collaboration with Pakistan Institute of Management (PIM) at vocational training centre for women in Peshawar, in which more than 69 women participated. Besides, a computer training session was also held for community women.
The tailoring and beautician kits were also distributed among the participants after the completion of training courses, during a closing ceremony, which was attended by the PIM Deputy General Manager, Laiq-ur-Rehman, Registrar Chief Manager Counsellor Adeel Zeerak, Shukria Syed, Provincial Programme Manager, RAHA-UNDP KP Programme, Colonel Safdar Khan (Retd), Manager Vocational Training Centre Fauji Foundation, and other RAHA officials. Nageen Khan, Infrastructure Development Co-ordinator (IDC) RAHA-UNDP KP Programme, on the occasion, briefed the participants about basic concept and objectives of training course. Adeel Zeerak, while addressing during the concluding function of training course said the training would not only helpful to make communities' women economically satble, but also enable them to contribute in development of economy of the country.
