The Islamabad High Court on Friday issued notices to Secretary to Prime Minister, Secretary Establishment Division and Secretary Ministry of Information and Broadcasting in a service matter pertaining to a BPS-21 officer of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
Chief Justice IHC Justice Muhammad Anwar Khan Kasi heard a petition filed by Managing Director (MD), Associated Press of Pakistan (APP), M. Khalid Sarwar, regarding early hearing of his service matter. During the course of proceedings, Advocate Abdur Rehman Alvi, the counsel for M. Khalid Sarwar, pleaded in the court that his client had not been promoted from BPS-21 to BPS-22 despite the fact that Sarwar was a senior officer of BPS-21. He maintained that the ministry of information had promoted some officers, who were junior in service while his client was still in BPS-21. He informed the court that Sarwar would retire on May 17, 2014. The court disposed of the petition and fixed main service matter on April 14 for hearing.
