Nation takes pride in Pakistan armed forces: President

President Mamnoon Hussain on Saturday said the whole nation took pride in Pakistan's armed forces and acknowledged their achievements and sacrifices might it be during war, internal security duties or nation building projects across length and breadth of the country.
He made these remarks while visiting Armed Forced Institute of Rehabilitation Medicines (AFIRM) here. Upon his arrival, the President was welcomed by Chief of Army Staff, General Raheel Sarif and other senior military officials. The President paid tribute to the valiant sons of the soil for having displayed extreme courage and determination in fighting all challenges to ensure security of the motherland, even at the cost of their limbs.
During his visit, he particularly appreciated the standard of facilities and care extended to the inmates by a team of dedicated doctors and paramedical staff of AFIRM, who are making all out efforts to reintegrate the wounded soldiers into the society. President Mamnoon Hussain also appreciated the concerted efforts at Army level for transforming AFIRM into a premier rehabilitative medicine institute with all specialties available under one roof, and welcomed the initiative to expand the scope of the Institute to accommodate more civilian cases.
The President was given detailed briefing on the role and contributions of AFIRM in rehabilitating the war wounded soldiers who have sacrificed their limbs during various military operations. He also inaugurated a State of the Art Artificial Limbs and Appliances Centre at AFIRM, which will cater for the needs of both military and civilians affected by accidents, calamities, any kind of violence and Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs). Earlier, President Mamnoon Hussain laid a floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada at General Headquarters and offered prayers for all Shaheeds.
