Awami Workers Party (AWP) urged the provincial government to take proactive measures for establishment of sustainable peace in the province. Speaking at a press conference at Peshawar Press Club on Wednesday, the party central president Fanoos Gujr said the police and law enforcement agencies have been assigned duties to only protect houses of ministers, MPAs and other high officials.
He referred the attack on the party president, and a member of legal fraternity, Shahabuddin Khattak by unknown gunmen as glaring example of government failure in provision of security to the masses. AWP president asked the provincial government to take immediate steps for establishment of durable peace in the province.
