Shahbaz reviews kidney, liver institute project

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif presided over a high level meeting on Wednesday to review the project of Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute. Provincial Minister for Law Rana Sanaullah, Advisor on Health Khawaja Salman Rafique, Member Provincial Assembly Dr Ayesha Ghaus Pasha, Chief Secretary, Chairman Planning & Development, Commissioner Lahore Division, Vice Chancellor King Edward Medical University and experts also attended the meeting.
Shahbaz Sharif said that planning has been made for setting up a modern institute in Lahore for the treatment of kidney and liver diseases. Most advance treatment facilities would be available in the institute, he added. The CM said that Punjab government is spending billions of rupees on the development of health sector. He said that besides medical facilities, free of cost medicines are also being provided to deserving patients in government hospitals.
He said that this institute is the need of the hour and the government would extend full co-operation for this purpose. He said that a research centre would also be set up at the institute. He said that surgery, medical treatment, diagnostic and all necessary facilities would be ensured in the institute.
