Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Wednesday directed Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak to immediately put a stop to all discretionary funds that were disbursed with taxpayers' money. The directives came after some PTI provincial ministers started transferring the discretionary funds on their personal accounts.
This angered Imran who without any delay took notice of the issue and urged Khattak to ensure that no ministers, bureaucrat and even the chief minister should be given discretionary funds. Khan said the CM should put an end to that practice of discretionary powers and discretionary funds for all - from CM himself to ministers and bureaucrats.
He stated that every taxpayer's rupee spent by the government should be audited for greater transparency and accountability in governance. Khan said he hoped the PTI-led KP government would once again lead the way in that as it was doing in so many other fields of governance.
