UBL reaches out to famine-hit people in Thar

11 Apr, 2014

Whenever Pakistan as a nation has faced a crisis, UBL has been at the forefront to give out to and hence assist the affected, the displaced and the unfortunate. The famine in Thar has left hundreds of thousands of families adversely affected in its wake. These innocent people have no means of sustenance and to them, their survival in itself is a challenge.
In this time of need, the local and federal institutions have stepped up and worked in tandem to provide the much needed relief. As part of its holistic belief in a self-sustainable Pakistan, UBL is also playing its part to assist the people of Thar. The bank has partnered with the Prime Minister's Relief Package and has disbursed much needed funds to more than 51,000 families through the BISP program.
UBL has been a part of the social fabric of Pakistan since its inception. The bank's commitment to Pakistan extends to providing maximum assistance when the nation most needs it. "By reaching out to the affected families of Thar, we hope to bring the much needed relief and smiles back on the faces of the affected families of Thar", commented Atif R Bokhari, President & CEO, UBL.-PR
