Sindh High Court (SHC) on Friday put secretary Finance Ministry, Acting Governor State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and other officials on notice on a petition questioning the appointment of Deputy Governor Ashraf Mahmood Wathra as acting governor SBP.
A division bench of SHC headed by Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar also issued a notice to federal law officer and adjourned the hearing of case till May 05. The two-judge bench was seized with the hearing of a petition filed by an NGO True Line International Foundation that pleaded the court to declare as illegal the appointment of acting governor.
