Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif called on Governor Punjab Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar at Governor House on Tuesday. Matters of mutual interest and development projects in the province were discussed in the meeting. The Chief Minister said the solution of people's problems and improving their living standard is the top priority of Pakistan Muslim League-N government.
He said that a number of projects have been started for the welfare of the people. He said that after tremendous success of Metro Bus service in the provincial metropolis, a similar project has been started in Rawalpindi-Islamabad on which work is in progress round-the-clock. He said the scope of Metro Bus service is being expanded to other big cities as well.
The Chief Minister said the government has evolved a big project for provision of potable water to the citizens and safe drinking water would be available to the people of the province during the next four and a half years. He said the Saaf Pani Project has been started and a separate company has been set up for the speedy implementation of this project. Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar appreciated the public welfare projects started in the province and said the programmes initiated in Punjab for the progress and prosperity of the people are yielding positive results.
