Poor children: LCWU launches on-campus model school

16 Apr, 2014

Lahore College for Women University (LCWU) has launched its on-campus model primary school to offer quality educational opportunities to out-of-school children in its surroundings. Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Sabiha Mansoor had announced the launching of this school on Independence Day last year. With the launch of the school, the Sabiha Mansoor said LCWU would become a front runner in the literacy drive "Jahalat Sey Azadi" launched by the Punjab government to get rid of the menace of illiteracy.
Referring to chief Minister's Universal Primary Enrolment Campaign 2013, the VC said it would prove to be a giant leap for the underprivileged marginalized out-of-school children by equipping them with basic education as a way forward for survival with dignity.
