Spot basis bids for hard red winter wheat were steady in the southern US Plains on Monday as harvest approached, dealers said. Protein premiums for railcar wheat to and through Kansas City rose 5 cents a bushel for 11.80- through 12.80 percent protein wheat supplies and were unchanged otherwise. The benchmark KC July hard red winter wheat futures contract was traded at $7.64-1/4 on Monday.
