Five criminal gangs busted; 20 held

The Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) of capital police have busted five criminal gangs and arrested 20 people allegedly involved in various nature of crime. A police officer said that police have recovered a car, six bikes, gold ornaments, laptops, cameras and pistols as well as 354 wine bottles from their possession. Because of the growing incidents of street crimes in various areas of the federal capital, Jamil Ahmad Hashmi Superintendent of Police (SP) Investigation has constituted various teams following the direction of high-ups of the police, he said.
The police teams during different raids busted five gangs and arrested 20 alleged criminals who were found involved in dacoity, auto-theft incidents, bootlegging and other criminal acts. The arrested culprits were identified as Musa, Raja Muddasar, Aamir, Tariq Mehmood, Adil, Ali, Nazir, Rizwan, Haseeb Mehmood, Sufyan Waris, Ali Raza, Zulifqar Ali, Shakil Anjum, Sher Javed, Ilyas, Asif, Abdul Waheed, Atta-ur-Rehman, Hasnain and Sufyan. The arrested persons have confessed their involvement in various incidents of crime occurred in the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, he said. The police teams have recovered six stolen motorcycles, eight pistols, gold ornaments, a car, mobiles phone, cameras, laptops, 354 bottles wine from their possession.
