Five people were killed while three others were injured in separate incidents of violence in the city. According to police and rescue sources, Waseem Niazi, 30, son of Abdul Ghafoor Niazi, was killed when unidentified gunmen opened fire on him near Ayub School located in Baghdadi Mira Naka, Lyari. The body was shifted to CHK for medico-legal formalities.
Similarly, an unidentified man, aged 30, was killed when unknown gunmen opened fire on him near Nagan Masjid in Lyari. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for medico-legal formalities. A youth, Imran, 25, son of Iqbal, was killed when unidentified gunmen opened fire on him in Baldia Town No 4. The body was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for an autopsy.
Hafiz Nasrullah, 28, son of Izzat Gul, was killed when unidentified gunmen opened fire on him near Darpan Bazaar in Patel Para. The body was taken to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) for an autopsy. A man, Shehzad Karim, 35, son of Haji Mian Guldad, was killed when unidentified gunmen opened fire on him on Bijli Nagar Road in Metroville, Orangi Town. The body was shifted to ASH for post-mortem examination.
A youth, Muheed, 20, son of Mushtaq Ahmed, received bullet injuries when unidentified gunmen opened fire on him near Fawwara Chowk in Garden. The injured was shifted to CHK for medical treatment. Two men, Anwar, 45, son of Ismail, and Hanif, 55, son of Yousuf, were injured when unidentified gunmen opened fire on them near Godhra Stop in New Karachi. They were taken to ASH for medical aid.
