Pre-monsoon rains begin, River Kabul in medium flood

Pre-monsoon rains have started in the upper parts of the country while river Kabul is in medium flood level at Nowshera with running water of 107,000 cusecs and all the other major rivers are flowing below low, meteorological department said on Wednesday.
It said seasonal low lies over Balochistan and adjoining areas. Moist currents from Arabian Sea are penetrating into upper parts of the country. A shallow westerly trough is also prevailing over extreme northern parts of the country. It said rain thundershower associated with gusty winds occurred at scattered places of Islamabad/Rawalpindi, G/wala, Hazara, Peshawar divisions and Kashmir, while at isolated places in Malakand division and GB.
