Former Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir Barrister Sultan Mahmood on Sunday held a meeting with former president Asif Ali Zardari here and briefed him about his visit of USA and Europe. He said during the meeting, Asif Ali Zardari was also briefed about his efforts regarding highlighting Kashmir issue at international level.
Sultan Mahmood said that the current geo-political situation of Azad Kashmir and Pakistan and its impact on Kashmir issue also came under discussion.
He said that during the meeting the issue of Afghanistan and situation after withdrawal of the US and Nato forces also came under discussion, besides reviewing aftermath of the election of Narendra Modi as Prime Minister of India on Kashmir issue.
Sultan Mahmood said that he also told Asif Ali Zardari about the meeting with US State Department,, European Union, House of Commons and foreign office of other countries.
Later, Chairman Pakistan People Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari joined the meeting. Asif Zardari urged him to play his role in international community to highlight Kashmir cause.
Barrister Sultan apprised Asif Zardari that in Pakistan about five million voters are Kashmiri but elections on Lahore seat for Kashmir legislative assembly is still pending for three years.
Sulatn Mahmood said that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz is well aware of the fact that PPP candidate Dewaan Mohi-ud-din will win the seat. He said that Asif Ali Zardari directed him to play his role for the success of PPP in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Pakistan.
