Arshad Mirza has assumed the charge of Acting Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL). Industry sources said the contract of Asim Murtaza Khan, MD PPL, has expired on June 30, 2014 and the Ministry of Petroleum has not extended the contract. They said Arshad Mirza, who is also a member of the Board of Directors of PPL, will perform as acting MD and CEO of PPL till the Ministry of Petroleum nominates a full-fledged MD.
