The international community and United Nations must play their vital role to stop genocide of Palestinians by Israel's forces for the respect of human dignity, and help both parties to reach the truce agreement. These demands were made by the participants of a protest demonstration held in front of Faisalabad Press Club to condemn Israeli atrocities against Palestinians in Gaza.
The protest demonstration was arranged by the REAT Human Rights Defenders Network, Peace and Human Development (PHD Foundation), Association of Women for Awareness and Motivation (AWAM), Adara Samaji Behbood (ASB), People's Empowerment for Human Rights and Leadership (PEHL) and Lyallpur Development Organisation (LDO). The demonstrators were carrying banner and placards inscribed with slogans to express solidarity with Palestinians.
The protestors were chanted slogans against Israel's military action in the besieged Strip of Gaza, which include; "Long Live Humanity", "Freedom for Palestine", "Stop Genocide of Palestine", "Cease-fire in Gaza", "Stop Massacre of Palestinians" and "End Israeli Atrocities". On the occasion, director of the PHD Foundation, Suneel Malik said, "Palestinians are facing brutal bombardment by the Israeli forces, leaving hundreds of innocent people dead and injured.
The mercilessly killing of Palestinian citizens by Israeli soldiers is simply genocide, so it must be stopped for the respect of human dignity." Co-ordinator of the AWAM, Shazia George said, "The deadly Israeli offensive in Gaza is against humanity, therefore the international community particularly United Nations must intervene urgently in the conflict to put an end to Israel's atrocities against People of Palestine." A human rights advocate, Tohid Ahmad said, "Wars only foster destruction and bloodshed, therefore conflict in Gaza must be resolved through political means, and the two neighbouring nations must live in peace for the future of their children."
A social activist, Irshad Parkash said, "The people of Palestine including; women and children are being killed in the recent invasion of Gaza. The agony, torture and fear inflicted on children and women in Palestine cannot be justified as collateral damage." A social activist, Younas Shahzad said, "The government of Pakistan should take the matter on global level to record its protest on the Gaza issue, and ask its partner countries to make practical and diplomatic efforts with both sides to halt violence and to continue with the truce agreement signed in November 2012."
A social activist, Tahir Iqbal said, "The Muslim world must be united beyond differences to combat Israeli terror in Palestine, and the rulers of the Muslim countries should play their due role on the diplomatic front to support the innocent Palestinians, and ensure immediate truce on both sides of Gaza." Mian Abdul Qayyum said, "The international community must suspend trade relations with Israel and withdraw their ambassadors in protest against the Israel's barbaric bombardment on Palestinians in the Gaza."
