The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday directed a petitioner, who has accused Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan of defaming and ridiculing higher Judiciary alongwith retired judges, to submit a written explanation that no such case was in the Supreme Court. A single-member bench headed by Justice Noor-ul-Haq N. Qureshi resumed the hearing of the petition filed by Moulvi Iqbal Haider against Imran Khan.
During the course of proceedings, the court while inquiring whether a similar petition was being heard by the Supreme Court (SC), directed the petitioner to get a written explanation from the Apex Court that no such case against Imran Khan was sub judice in the court. The petitioner contended that Imran had committed a gross violation of Article 5, 14, 25, 175, 189, 204 R/w Article 63(1) (g) of the constitution.
