Federal Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Pervaiz Rashid on Tuesday advised Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan to serve the internally displaced persons (IDPs) instead of holding 'long march.' Talking to media persons outside the parliament house, the Information Minister said Imran Khan must leave the politics of demonstrations for the sake of democracy and join the noble cause of serving the IDPs.
Rashid appealed the PTI chief that it was not appropriate time for a long march. The Information Minister said PTI's march was a one-day event which would then transform into a quick march. Rashid said majority of the members of the National Assembly would not participate in the PTI long march scheduled to be held on August 14, adding that with only 25 participating lawmakers from the NA, the PTI's tsunami would be a solo flight. He said Pakistan Protection Act would be used to give exemplary punishment to the terrorists, adding the Act would help the law enforcement agencies to tackle menace of terrorism effectively.
