IDPs funds: government urged to set up inquiry commission to probe embezzlement

Welcoming the government decision regarding removal of Director General Fata Disaster Management Authority (FDMA), Jamiat-e-Ulema Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Khyber Agency demanded the government to constitute an inquiry commission to probe into allegedly embezzlement in funds of the Internally displaced people (IDPs)and to bring responsible officials to justice.
Addressing a news conference at Peshawar Press Club on Tuesday, JUI-F Amir Khyber Ageny, Mufti Ejaz Shinwari along with General Secretary Shamsuddin Afridi and Secretary Information Qari Jehad Shah, said that removal of DG FDMA is not enough solution to end corruption in the authority, but an independent inquiry need to be constituted to unearth massive level corruption in IDPs funds, particularly hailing from Khyber Agency. Shinwari said that competent tribal people should be appointed in FDMA in order to provide efficient services to IDPs from Fata. He urged the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor to free FDMA from hold of a single family, and deserving and competent people of Fata should be recruited in the authority.
JUI-F tribal leaders also emphasised upon elected representatives from Fata, to give equitable share in Annual Development programme (ADP) and other mega development schemes to all tribes as per ratio of their population. He urged government to immediate winding up the ongoing military operation in Khyber Agency, and called for bringing peace and everlasting stability through holding talks in Federally Administrated Tribal Areas.
Condemning the brutality of Israeli forces on Palestinians, Shinwari demanded the UN to immediate hold meeting on this important issue to ensure stability and safety of people of Palestine. He also called for holding meeting of Organisation of Islamic Countries (OIC) immediately to end the growing bloodshed in Gaza Strip.
Later, the newly elected cabinet of JUI-F Khyber Agency, was announced: Mufti Ejaz Shinwar elected as Amir Khyber Agency, Haji Shamsuddin Afridi, as Genral Secretary, senior Naib Amir Hafiz Bismillah Jan, Naib Amir Awal Mualana Sher Haider, Naib Amir II Jan Mohammad, Naib Amir III Qari Saadullah, Naib Amir IV Mualana Mohammad Ajmal, deputy joint secretary Haji Mohammad Israel, Joint secretary Haji Younis, secretary finance Abdul Wahab, secretary information Qari Jehad Shah, Salar Murad Ali Shinwari, Deputy Salar Abdul Majeed Afridi, pattern in chief Malik Waris Khan, and vice pattern-in-chief Qari Mujahid.
