Toyota Indus Motors Company (TIMC) handed over relief consignment worth Rs 5 million to National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) for the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) as a result of a military operation against terrorists in North Waziristan.
On behalf of Toyota Indus Motors Company, Resident Director (Niazi) and General Manager HR & CSR (Tariq Hussain Khan) handed over humanitarian assistance to Chairman NDMA, Major General Saeed Aleem, as a gesture of solidarity and to contribute in the relief efforts to alleviate the sufferings of the IDPs.
The consignment comprised ten truckloads with one thousand hampers of relief goods for the displaced persons. The humanitarian aid includes food items like flour, pulses, oil, salt and biscuits for displaced families living in camps in Bannu. While talking to media present on the occasion, Tariq informed that Toyota Company has been actively participating in the relief efforts during past years as well like during earthquake and floods.
Chairman NDMA thanked the Company for the compassionate gesture and generous contribution for the noble cause. Chairman NDMA lauded the national spirit to stand by their brethren and supporting the displaced persons. He reiterated government's resolve to use all available resources to address the IDPs' issue and commitment to ensure provision of timely relief assistance in accordance with the needs of the affected ones in the course of the military operation. He also assured of all-out support to government and IDPs in their hour of need.-PR
