Unannounced power loadshedding hitting industrial production

The Site industrial area suffers huge production losses due to seven hours long unannounced load shedding carried out by K-electric. The load shedding by K-electric in Site industrial area created massive problems for the industrialists to keep their export and local orders' commitment fulfilled on time. The seven hours load shedding diminished the pace of production, causing problems to exports to honour their export commitments as well as fulfil local orders.
Industrialists said it is very difficult to give actual estimate of production losses because the industries remain non-operative for eight hours and rest of the time they operated normally. They expressed his deep concern over resumption of load shedding in industrial areas which now extended to seven hours in this industrial area. They said if uninterrupted electricity supply is not ensured forthwith, nobody would be able to execute export well in time thus hitting the future exports hard.
When foreign buyers would not get delivery of their orders on time, they definitely would be turning to other countries next time, so the government should understand the seriousness of the state of affairs and issue necessary directions to stop load shedding. Chairman Site Association of Industry (SAI), Younus M Bashir expressed dismay over the unilateral supply of electricity to site industries.
According to him more than seven hours long load shedding has been carried out by K-electric in this industrial area due to which several units have been closed despite of provision of 222MMCVFD gas by SSGC to K-electric. He said due to reduction of working hours in Ramazan and unannounced load shedding, production decreased resulting in difficulties to meet the deadlines of export deliveries and fulfilling local orders.
He also asserted that Site industrial area is being discriminated in the supply of electricity as compared to other industrial estates of the city. He urged to provide electricity of priority bases to site industrial area from where the utility collect 99 percent bills.
He also draw the attention of Managing Director of K-electric to take notice of the situation and grant exemption to Site industrial area from load shedding. Mohammad Naseem expressed serious concerns over unannounced load shedding of seven hours on Tuesday in this industrial area of the city. He clamed that almost all the industrial units in this industrial estates of the city remain closed on Tuesday due to prolong unannounced load shedding.
