Pakistan Head Coach Mickey Arthur’s friendly ways to motivate the team surely are successful and the recent bet between him and Shadab Khan during the tour of England and Ireland is a great example.
According to local media reports, Shadab had a bet with Mickey that he would score half centuries in all three games of the recently concluded tour of England and Ireland. However, much to everyone's joy, Shadab won the bet against coach Mickey as he went on to score half centuries in all three games.
Shadab scored 55 in the first innings against Ireland, than followed up with 52 runs at Lord’s against England. In the third and final Test of the tour, which Pakistan lost by an innings and 55 runs, the young all-rounder scored 56 in the game and won the bet against Mickey.
As the result, Mickey was forced to take the whole team to the lunch since he had promised Shabab. The recent tour has been quite a success for Pakistan, as the team leveled the two-match Test series against England 1-1 and won the only match against Ireland during the tour.
