Over-charging CDGL launches crackdown against transporters

City District Government Lahore (CDGL) will launch a crackdown on transporters for over-charging the commuters travelling to and from the provincial metropolis to celebrate Eid. In this connection, a meeting was held here on Friday, which was chaired by District Co-ordination Officer (DCO) Lahore Captain (Retd.) Muhammad Usman. In the meeting, transporters and concerned official were also present.
In the meeting, it decided to constitute four special squads that will take action against transporters for over-charging, and also a control room has been set up in the office of Secretary Regional Transport Authority. The meeting was told that a transporter will be fined for overcharging on the first compliant and if a second complaint is registered against the same transporter, its vehicle will be impounded till Eid. On the third complaint of overcharging, a case will be registered against the bus-stand manager.
