Two Rangers shot dead in Karachi

Two Rangers personnel were killed in a densely populated area of Landhi here on Sunday evening. According to police and rescue sources, two Rangers personnel became victim of indiscriminate firing when they were heading towards a nearby market from their check-post to buy foodstuffs for Iftar.
Giving details of the gory incident, police sources said that two unidentified armed persons on a bike opened indiscriminate firing on them and managed to flee from the scene, leaving both the officials in critical condition. Both the injured officials were rushed to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPCM) for treatment but they succumbed to their injuries reportedly owing to excessive bleeding.
Police said that deceased officials were identified as Sanaullah, 30, and Saifur Rehman, 30, while two passers-by namely Nisar, 35, son of Nazeer, and Ayesha, 12, daughter of Riaz, were also injured in the incident. Meanwhile, a bullet-riddled body of a man was found from a drain passing beneath the Lasbela Bridge. The body which could not be identified till filing of this report was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities.
Besides, two people identified as Bismillah Khan, 35, s/o of Abdul Majid and Habibullah, 30, s/o of Sher Khan, were injured by unknown robbers when they resisted a robbery in Baldia's Gulshan-e-Gazi. Both the injured were shifted to Civil Hospital for treatment.
