Gang of car thieves busted in Islamabad

Islamabad Police have busted a gang of car thieves and recovered stolen car besides getting clue about vehicles stolen by gangsters and later selling them in various areas, a police spokesman said on Sunday.
According to details, SP Jameel Ahmed Hashmi constituted special teams for effective checking in various points of the city to curb car lifting incidents. One of the team comprising police officials of anti-car lifting cell including Inspector Fayyaz ahmed Ranjha,ASIs Muhammad Sarfaraz was performing duty on G-12 area when they stopped a car for checking.
Two occupants of car stopped by the police team. They were identified as Khan Muhammad s/o Muhammad Rasheed r/o of district Mardan and Ali Zar Khan s/o Shahzada Khan r/o district Noshara.
On checking the car, police found one 30 bore pistols along with ammunition while car (LXM-5015) with fake number plate being driven by them were also found stolen from Islamabad police station Ramana area.
SP Jameel Ahmed Hashmi said during the preliminary investigation, the nabbed persons have confessed their involvement in several car theft incidents and confessed to take away stolen cars to KPK and sell them. SSP Islamabad Muhammad Ali Nekokara has appreciated performance of ACLC team and further directed to trace the cars which they sold in other areas after tempering.
