Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said the Pakistan Muslim League-N government was trying to steer the country out of problems in accordance with the heavy mandate given by the people and put it on the road to progress and development. He said no long march or protest can create hurdles in the journey towards prosperity. He said Pakistan did not need such a long march as it destroy the national unity but needed a long march for progress and development.
He said the country will achieve its goal, the darkness will be removed and it will emerge as a strong economic force. He was talking to a delegation of PML-N Youth Wing in Murree on Friday. The Chief Minister said Pakistan was passing through the most critical phase of its history and the army was fighting against the enemies of peace. He said officers and Jawans of armed forces were bravely facing terrorists and fighting for survival of the country.
He said lakhs of Pakhtun brethren and sisters had been forced to leave their homes due to war against terrorism and facing hardships for peace and secure future for the country. The Chief Minister said there was need for unity to overcome problems being faced by the nation and every member of the society should play his or her role in this regard.
He said the PML-N government was determined to steer the country out of quagmire of problems and its efforts would be fruitful. He said Pakistan will emerge as a haven of peace and will achieve the goal of development and prosperity.
Shahbaz Sharif said the Punjab government has completed mega projects costing billions of rupees for providing relief and basic facilities to the people for raising their living standard. He said the process of development started in the province six years ago would not stop and Punjab will be made a model province.
He said a record fund of Rs 345 billion have been allocated for development schemes in Punjab in the current fiscal year and the implementation of annual development programme will usher in an era of progress and prosperity.
The PML-N Youth Wing delegation appreciated efforts of the PML-N leadership and the government and said that the country will certainly rid of problems through these measures. They said the people were benefiting from mega projects executed in the province of Punjab.
