KATI opposes long spell of holidays

Syed Farukh Mazhar, President KATI, Mian Zahid Hussain, President All Karachi Industrial Alliance, Hasham A. Razzak, Senior Vice President, Faraz-ur-Rehman, Vice President KATI strongly opposed the announcement of four continuous Eid holidays from July 29 to August 01, by the government and said that since most of industries are also closed on weekends, making the whole week as holidays.
Many workers also took holiday on July 28, therefore, the wheel of industrial production had stopped for whole week, they added. In a statement issued here on Friday, they said that to be an Asian Tiger we have to work hard and meet the export targets which in this scenario seems difficult to achieve. The present government is working hard on the agenda of Prime Minister of Pakistan Mian Nawaz Sharif for revival of economy and business community is fully supporting it, and there is dire need to eradicate holiday culture in this regard.
