Independence Day celebration: activities picking up momentum

Activities are picking up momentum throughout the country in connection with celebrations of the Independence Day. National Flag is fluttering atop important public and private buildings as well as homes, shops and transport. At a ceremony held at Jinnah Hall in Murree on Saturday.
Provincial Minister and Convenor of the Committee to Celebrate Independence Day in Punjab Raja Ashfaq Sarwar hoisted flag in the presence of local administration, party leaders and workers and notables of the area. Speaking on the occasion, he said programmes have been chalked out at ward, mohallah, village, union council, tehsil, divisional and provincial level to celebrate Independence Day in a befitting manner.
Schools and colleges have also drawn elaborate programmes in connection with Independence Day celebrations including declamation contests and sports activities. Different political parties, social and literary organisations and labour unions have also planned functions and rallies to mark the Day.
