Anti-Dengue drive in Lahore: MPAs, MNAs review cleanliness arrangements

District Co-ordination Officer Lahore Captain Muhammad Usman (Retd) along with MNA Malik Pervaiz, MPAs Khawja Imran Nazir, Bao Akhtar and Chaudhry Shahbaz paid a surprise visit to Singhpura graveyard to check cleanliness arrangements in connection with Anti-Dengue Drive on Saturday.
The DCO Lahore showed his concern over poor cleanliness arrangements in the said graveyard and severely rebuked concerned secretary union council and gave him an ultimatum of three hours to carry out proper cleanliness arrangements. He also warned all town administrations of Lahore city and dengue staffs to ensure proper cleanliness and dengue larva surveillance under anti-dengue drive in all areas of the city. Moreover, DCO Lahore accompanied by the MNA, MPAs and WASA officials visited Mall Road, High Court, Aibek Road and Lakshmi Chowk to review drainage of accumulated rain water. They paid tribute to WASA and Town officials, who, timely, pumped out the rain water from low lying areas of the city soon after the rain stopped.
Meanwhile, the City District Government Lahore continued with its independence celebrations on the second day of month of August. In this regard, Government Saad Mitha Hospital's administration arranged an Independence Walk to mark Jashan-e-Azadi, which started from Government Saad Mitha Hospital and ended at Roshani Gate of Badshahi Mosque.
The independence walk was headed by the DCO Lahore, Pervaiz Malik and Khawja Imran Nazir while hospital staff and people belonging to different walks of life participated in walk. They paid a rich tribute to the founders of motherland and committed that they would utilise all their efforts to bring this country on the track of peace, prosperity and progress.
