Provincial Minister for Labour and Manpower and Head of Independence Day Celebrations Committee in Punjab Raja Ashfaq Sarwar has said that colourful programmes of independence celebrations have started at Murree. He said that PML-N leaders and workers are participating in these functions enthusiastically.
He told the meeting of officers of local administration and PML-N leaders that an exhibition has been organised at Murree Arts Council and tourists are taking special interest. He said that a Mushaira has been arranged today in Murree and renowned poets will participate in it. There will be competition of tug of war on August 7 and Azadi walk will be held on August 8. Cricket matches will be held at Bhoorban Cricket Ground on August 10 and a Qawali programme has been arranged on August 12. There will be illumination on August 13 and candles will be lit at GPO Chowk Murree.
A function will be arranged for special children on August 15 and an Azadi Mela will be held on August 16. Anjuman-e-Tajran will set up stalls. Jinnah film will be screened. Table tennis tournament, quiz competitions and speech competitions will be held. Raja Ashfaq Sarwar told that marathon race is also a part of independence celebrations. The concluding ceremony will be held on August 31.
