Veteran politician and Awami Tehreek’s founder Rasool Bux Palijo breathed his last on Thursday morning in Karachi.

The 88-year-old senior politician and human rights lawyer was suffering from a prolonged illness, local media reported. Palijo will be laid to rest in his ancestral area Mungar Khan Palijo near Jungshahi in Thatta.

Former chief minister Murad Ali Shah and Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari expressed their condolences over the senior politician's death.

The deceased politician has authored many books. He was also imprisoned for more than 11 years under political charges in different time periods.
