Early radish variety to be beneficial, claims PAD

Punjab Agriculture Department (PAD) has claimed that early radish variety developed by Ayub Agricultural Research Institute (AARI) Faisalabad, which gets matured in 40 days, can be proved very beneficial for the growers as it can be made available for domestic use in the month of September fetching good price for the farmers.
PAD experts said here on Thursday that this variety of radish had the ability to bear the heat. They said growers should use 10 to 15 tons of fertilizer per acre made of cow dung after levelling the field. They should apply half bag of urea per acre after 20 to 25 days of sowing. Besides other advices pertaining to seed quantity per acre, watering, experts said that growers should harvest early sown radish from 40 to 50 days, otherwise these would become hollow fetching low price in the market.
