Officials of Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority's (PSQCA's) Laboratory are nowadays highly perturbed over increasing incidents of street crimes in the vicinity of their Gulistan-e-Johar's office. According to the PSQCA's officials, the incidents of snatching cellular phones, cash and other valuables not only from their workers but also from those visiting their lab for getting their products tested have become a matter of routine although police and personnel of other law-enforcement agencies often remain deployed in the locality.
"In fact, dozens of PSQCA employees and workers of different companies, who visit the laboratory to get products of their companies tested and a number of residents of the locality have already been deprived of the mobiles, motorcycles and other valuables," they said, adding that one could see armed robbers roaming in the locality without any fear.
"I have been robbed twice in the last two months," an employee of the PSQCA told Business Recorder. Such incidents mainly take place between Kamran Chowangi and the PSQCA Laboratory, he pointed out. However, contrary to incidents of street crimes continuously taking place in the vicinity of PSQCA's Laboratory, Gulistan-e-Johar police station's officials denied such incidents, claiming that police parties have been frequently patrolling the locality to keep a check on such crimes.
